How to avoid wasting food, and thus we are avoiding a blow to our wallet, but also to the environment.
Did you know that 1/3 of food produced for human consumption ends up in waste? And did you know that branch debris is responsible for 8-10% of the harmful emissions of greenhouse gases from our planet? There are sufficient reasons to consider individual food preparation and storage to reduce these statistics in the coming years.
How to prevent food waste
It’s a great way to avoid wasting food. In addition, we will not only live healthier lives, but we will also save money.
The first step is to plan ahead for what you will eat. Your initial goal is to plan a meal for next week.
Note the parts
When buying food, think about quantity. And it depends on the members of the household.
Preparation and storage
Once the cooked meals are ready, the best way to store them is to freeze them. Store fresh foods such as pumpkins, tomatoes and potatoes in a cool, dark place. Chop the broccoli and cauliflower and store them in the plastic boxes that you will keep in the fridge.
Prepare the ingredients for the smoothies in advance. For example, store berries, bananas and spinach in a vacuum-packed bag and store in the refrigerator.
Lemon will keep it fresh if you store it in the refrigerator in a glass jar filled with water.

Always think about how you will include the leftover meals next time. For example, you ate chicken on Sunday, and you can use the rest to prepare a Caesar salad for lunch on Monday. Be creative.
Do a good deed
Finally, if you make too much for a meal, you can make a donation. Ask around if there is a neighbor who is in a bad economic situation. Or contact food service providers such as Donate a Meal – JCI Novi Sad
