As for the active ingredients in cosmetic preparations, until recently, niacinamide (a derivative of vitamin B3) was perceived as a complementary agent rather than a complementary agent. However, the situation is changing now!
The popularity of niacinamide is constantly growing. Three years ago, this ingredient ranked third in the composition of anti-aging preparations from major cosmetic brands. However, due to the stressful period of the last year, which has had a negative impact on both our mental state and our skin, it has been “catapulted” into being a mandatory component in most preparations. There are many reasons for this! This antioxidant moisturizes the skin, maintains its protective barrier, facilitates the treatment of acne, pigmentation and wrinkles and does not cause irritation. In other words, niacinamide can work just as effectively as other active substances, but often without causing redness and dryness of the skin. In addition, niacinamide calms the skin, strengthens it and flattens the texture. We reveal two other important pieces of information about this cosmetic star.
Niacinamide: major and minor roles
Niacinamides accelerate the production of ceramides as they provide optimal strength and hydration for the protective barrier. In addition to this first function, it has other advantages. This substance has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It neutralizes and alleviates the inflammatory reaction of the skin, which can be the result of UV radiation. In addition, niacinamide has a lighter effect and is more stable than vitamin C, as it is very common in care products, especially for sensitive skin.

How to use?
If you apply vitamin C serum to your face in the morning, wait until the skin is absorbed and then apply the niacinamide serum / moisturizer. When niacinamide and other irritating active substances, such as retinol or vitamin C, are used in combination, it has been observed that niacinamide increases the tolerance threshold of the skin. In the afternoon, after washing, exfoliating, toning or applying retinol to the face, reapply it with niacinamide (a formula containing at least 2% of this substance).
